Celebrity Inspired: Kim Kardashian

For some reason lately I have been loving Kim K's style. She seems to know what works well on her body type and likes classic, trendy clothes. This outfit she was wearing seemed perfect for going on a date, a party, wedding, or for any occasion you want to get dressed up. Here is how you can recreate it (for less!)

First, add a silky blouse with a tie neck.

Next, add a skirt with some detail (lace, ruffles, etc.)

Lastly, finish it off with some neutral accessories to look polished and put together.

This look is fun, girly and easy to recreate! All clothes & accessories from Forever 21.

Celebrity Inspired: Kim Kardashian

I saw this picture of Kim Kardashian on the KUWTK Facebook fan page. She was attending the Glamour Magazine Women of the Year Awards this past week. Although she looked stunning, as usual, I think the clothes weren't fitting correctly and looked off. I loved the concept of the color blocking, and the actual colors themselves. I recreated the outfit using pieces that I thought would have worked better, while still keeping in mind her style and colors.

I chose a purple sleeveless wrap top, which I thought would have worked better on her figure. I think short sleeved or sleeveless looks better when pairing a blouse with a skirt, because then you don't look so covered up and it balances the length of the skirt. I loved the orange color of the skirt, but think that she should have chosen a larger size if she was going to go with a silk material, or she should have gone with a cotton blend skirt like the one I chose. It would have been more flattering and laid better on her. The belt was the focal point of the outfit and I loved the bronze one with tassles she had on. The shoes were a nice pop of color with the turqoise and I chose ones that incorporated the purple in it as well. As for accessories, I chose a few gold bangles, which would have been a nice touch had she gone with a sleeveless top. And although Kim was at an event and probably had an assistant carrying her bag around, an envelope style clutch with a turquoise color and a gold latch would have completed the outfit.
